Working at Astral offers variety in terms of projects, industries and clients, the ongoing challenge of daily critical and logical thinking, the ability to grow through continuous professional development and a supportive team of colleagues. We also promote a progressive and thought leadership culture which helps Astral, and our whole team thrive.

Our Skills Become Your Skills

At Astral we focus on your growth as an individual within our team, expanding your skill set and that of the team and of the company. Our consultants have extensive skills and relevant domain experience, enabling them to solve the Information Management challenges faced by organisations. However, we help you get to this point throughout your journey in our Intern/Graduate Program.

During my 12 months Internship at Astral I was fully supported by the Astral team whilst learning what it’s like to work in a professional environment and how I should conduct myself within the company and when working with clients. I have also learnt many hard skills around Information Management and the Microsoft 365 platform. Along the way I received great experiences from positive and challenging moments within client projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What type of degree do I need to have to qualify for the graduate program?

Since we are an Information Management company, we predominately hire Computer Science, Information Management and Software Engineering graduates. There are instances where we recruit graduates from other related studies (e.g. Business information systems / Communication / Sciences / Engineering), but this depends on our business needs.

2. Do I need relevant work experience to qualify for the graduate program?

Not necessarily, although we prioritise individuals who have some work experience – irrespective of whether it is in customer service or IT – as it demonstrates maturity and work ethics.

If you graduated 2-3 years ago and have full-time work experience in technology, we can discuss if you are better suited as an experienced candidate rather than a graduate.

Similarly, if you are an experienced Technology consultant and keen to work with Astral, please keep a look out for our job ads on LinkedIn or Seek.com.au

3. Are international students eligible to apply for the graduate program?

Yes, we hire those who have the right to work in Australia, have a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) or are on a bridging Visa and in the process of obtaining a subclass 485 Visa. It is also important that you have completed your degree and can legally work 38 hours a week.

4. What does a week in Astral look like for a Graduate?

Both interns and graduates can expect to contribute to client projects such as Strategy development, Migrations, System Implementations, UAT, Process Documentation, Framework for controlled documents. You will work collaboratively with team members but there is also emphasis on individual deliverables and tasks.

You will be involved in internal projects, organise knowledge sharing sessions, coordinate team building activities and attend social events.

 5. What happens after I complete the Graduate program?

We have a structured career development plan to ensure that you can progress from a Graduate all to way to a Principal Consultant, depending on your skills, interests and alignment with Astral’s expectations.
