The time and management cost of transferring asset information between different business functions and systems at various asset lifecycle stages is one of the greatest efficiency challenges in asset-intensive industries. Integrating CSP with ERP can deliver a range of asset management efficiencies by reducing the costs and complexity of data and information transfer.
Integrating ERP and CSP, including BIM and key engineering and project management platforms, helps create a seamless and managed flow of information across the asset lifecycle, from design to operations and through to closure. Reduction in the need for ‘manual’ migrations reduces project delays, time and budget overruns, duplicated effort, process errors and long-term data storage requirements. Its also reduces compliance problems related to records retention at the closure of an asset.
An additional benefit of CSP-ERP integration is the ability to link asset information to corporate information and controlled documents, such as WH&S procedures. Using a single instance of information in the context of all relevant business processes significantly increases its reliability and usability, increasing user confidence.
